What are Home Groups?
A Home Group at Campbelltown City Baptist Church could be defined as an intentional face-to face gathering of three to twelve people on a regular time schedule. Each Small Group has a common purpose of discovering and growing in the possibilities of the abundant life that comes from being part of the Jesus community. The first home group we read about in the New Testament was Jesus and his twelve disciples. The early church also used home groups meeting in homes as the centre of Church life. Nearly every major spiritual awakening in the last 2,000 years has also been accompanied, spontaneously or by design, by the huddling of home groups to study the Bible, pray, minister to one another and to keep each other accountable.
